A satellite workshop (pdf) of the 6th International Brain-Computer Interface Conference

OpenViBE ( is a software platform dedicated to designing, testing and using brain-computer interfaces (BCI). It can be used to acquire, filter, process, classify and visualize brain signals in real time. Five years after its first official release (the OpenViBE project started in 2006 and the first version of the software was released in 2009), OpenViBE now appears to be used by multiple people and laboratories all over the world and has become a major BCI platform. This first OpenViBE workshop is meant to gather all the users and people interested in this tool, its use and its future evolution. In other words, we believe it is time for the OpenViBE community to meet, exchange and further collaborate. This workshop will consist of a mix of tutorials, demos, scientific presentations, and discussions between users, novice or experts in OpenViBE.

Tentative Program:

Morning (9 am)

• Opening remarks and general presentation of the day (and speakers)
• OpenViBE tutorial : basics, first steps with the software

Afternoon (2 pm)

• Tutorial follow-up (BCI paradigms e.g., Motor Imagery, P300) and live demos
• Applications and good practices
• Presentations of OpenViBE users (open call for short presentations)
• Exchanges and questions

Evening (for programmers) (8 pm)

• Programming in and with OpenViBE
• Technical forum (ask programming questions to OpenViBE experts)
• How to contribute

Targeted Audience: People interested in discovering or/and exchanging on the OpenViBE software, beginners in BCI usages and OpenViBE (Morning), current and future users of OpenViBE (Afternoon), programmers interested in getting deeper in the software (Evening)
